A great newish and much needed addition to the Birmingham craft beer scene. Comfortable sorroundings and very sociable staff made for a very pleasant Sunday evening. Craft beers can be very much hit and miss and some of them can be as strong as wine so choose with care. Unusually they offer several options regarding the measures of beer which I think is a great idea.
Great beer. Nice changing selection. You can get beer in 2/3 pint. Makes more room for trying a second. Prices are extremely good. Nice atmosphere.

March 2024: back again. Great selection of craft beers, sours and ciders! Still as good as it was 2 years ago. Really friendly and great service! Today (Thursday) was 4 thirds for the price of 3. Bargain! 8, 10, 12, 13 and 1, 12, 13, 15! Had the place to ourselves as it was early afternoon and requested some awesome 80's tunes! March 2022: If you miss this place out on your night out/beer crawl then you're definitely doing something wrong! Thursday night 'Flite Night'. It's a no brainer plus 20% off. Great craft ale, great service, friendly & knowledgeable servers! Even worth coming in on a schoolnight!Addition: came back on our second night. Would have been rude not to!

A Sommar brewing taproom in the city centre. A good selection of draught beers at very reasonable prices and a good fridge selection of cans.Well worth a visit. Good tunes too..from the 80s to now...the inside I'd not wheelchair accessible but there is seating outside.
Been here several times now and love the food and hosts! Chicken is the best in town and always comes out quick and hot! Dean always makes me smile and laugh! Lovely experience all around 10 outta 10 staff. They make everyone feel welcome
A comfortable, cool speciality beer bar. Albert Schloss is surprisingly busy on a Thursday evening. Being old and in need of a quieter environment to chat to my friend we searched for an alternative. Sommar with its pink neon attracted us in. On entering, the psychedelic colours of the couches immediately took my attention. Cool, modern interior decorations are found throughout. The inglorious centrepiece though is its selection of craft beers, of which there are many. Details of each beer can be ascertained from the big screen at the back of the bar. My friends and I sat in comfort as a selection of British classic rock tunes mellowly played in the back ground. A really cool ambiance. We stayed for a couple of hours catching up on life, enjoying each other’s company in comfort.
